how it works

The rules are contracts. The numbers are read from the chain as you look.

the edition

ANGEL is an ERC-20 whose whole supply lives in a market from the first second: every token placed in a pool paired with RARE. No sale, no allocation. The artist was given none and buys off the curve like anyone.

The pool is a curve, not a pot: the supply sits on a staircase of prices. Every buy takes tokens off it and moves the price up a step; every sell puts them back and moves it down. The price is how far up the staircase the crowd has climbed, net. Nothing else sets it.

Trades settle in RARE; SuperRare's panel takes ETH, RARE or USDC and swaps behind the scenes. The artist earns a fee on every trade: … is the artist fee printed on the plate. SuperRare has not confirmed the split.

the image

One image, the same for everyone. SuperRare's frame cannot see who is looking, so the plate is driven by three things anyone can verify.

the crowd
distinct holders assemble the angel. one, a sliver; fifty, the chest; …, the whole figure. a holder holds at least one whole ANGEL.
the burn
ANGEL burned opens the pit and lights the candles.
the climb
a price above launch lights the halo, even over an unfinished body.

With no ANGEL you see the demon and the numbers. Your own view is here, with a wallet connected.

the ten lenses

A lens is a way of reading the same market. A verb is what a holder must do to take it. The lenses are not for sale and cannot be listed; each goes to whoever does its verb best, and the contract moves it. Nobody's approval is asked.

how a lens moves

Every lens has two doors.

the verb
free. beat the holder by the margin: …. the chain checks five verbs itself: the high, hold small, burn, witness, still. the other five are read from the log by the artist's indexer, which signs an attestation the claimer submits. the signer is a trust point, disclosed: ….
the burn
anyone may take any lens by burning more ANGEL than its last taker: ×1.04 per take, from a floor of …. the price is destroyed, not paid; it must be bought first, which pays the fee. burning is lens 05's own verb, so it counts there too.
the cooldown
… after any take before the lens can move again. margin and cooldown stop two wallets flapping a lens between them.
one each
a wallet holds at most one lens, so the ten sit with ten people. holding one, every other door is shut to you until you release it; a released lens goes back to the artist and is claimable at once. the artist is the exception, holding the ones nobody has claimed yet.
the free door
lens 08 costs nothing: a window opens every … and stays open …. send the claim inside it.

Every take is a Transfer and a Claimed event. Not a reason; a record. The doors →

the month · the flows

The show runs in chapters of two months, one verb a month. Each month is opened on chain the day it begins, with its verb in one line; nothing later exists yet. This month: ….

At the close the holder of the month's lens (…) names who the record says did it: holding the lens is the office. If the holder is silent the artist names as the fallback. Each naming is a flow, named by what happened: witness · I.1 · 3 of 12 — the verb, the chapter and month, its place in that month. A wrong flow can be withdrawn by the artist within a day, then never.
